Sorry - massages are not allowed in tier 4. I look forward to massaging again when we shift to tier 1, 2, or 3. Until then - stay well x massage and therapeutic yoga combine as valuable tools in managing and treating back pain. a session lasts two hours and is made up of three parts:
assessment: to identify the areas of concern and devise a treatment programme suitable for the individual. Information from your GP or other treating practitioner is taken into account, as well as your experience of pain, duration of the condition, postural assessment and any other relevant factors
massage: chose thai yoga massage or ayurvedic yoga massage depending on which you personally prefer
yoga therapy: after the massage i will teach you yoga exercises that you can practice regularly at home. usually these are a combination of stretches to release tension in the muscles of the back, mobilisation exercises to improve the range of movement and encourage good blood circulation in muscles which have become locked-down and experiencing spasms. eventually, as the pain reduces, exercises to strengthen muscles to support the back and improve posture are introduced
